Cycle Training

The following link about adult cycle training in London was forwarded to me via the  Greater Manchester Cycling Campaign mailing list.

I hope that something similar could be made available for Salford.  Manchester City council made 300 places available for adult cycle training last year but as I neither live or work in Manchester I wasn’t eligible.  I took advantage of a generous offer of training through the GMCC just over a year ago but at the time nobody else at Sage was really interested.  We can all benefit from training whether experienced or looking to cycle commute for the first time.

Maybe with Mediacity coming on-line and a few more people cycling around the Quays the City council might consider offering training?  I raised it at our Exchange Quay Travel forum meeting last month as there was someone from Salford City Council in attendance and if there’s one thing to fires up a Salford City Council representative, it’s telling them of the wonderful things that Manchester City Council are doing.  I will take the same approach at the Cycle Forum meeting at the end of this month:  Thursday 27th at 6pm at the Civic Centre in Swinton.
