There are still so many un-answered questions: Did Maria really know what she was doing? How on earth did she do it? Was a mirror involved? At what point did she think "Hmm I’m happy with that, I think I’ll stop now"? We don’t want to dwell too much on the event and talk it through with her at length (so to speak!) as enough fuss is being made of her. Friends and family seem mostly amused by it though it has no doubt worried a few other parents and we’ve had a few sympathetic scissor stories. Her school teacher was not impressed, probably fearing that others might copy her.
Today’s corrective cut has neatened it a little although it has revealled a few areas around the back where she had taken chunks out. Fringe still looks a bit wobbly and will do for a while yet. Thankfully the school photo taken on Monday was not a particularly good one anyway: Her polo shirt is still much too large around her neck (though this was very cute last year when she was even smaller) and she wasn’t looking straight into the camera so it makes for an easy decision not to purchase this time – not even for future blackmailing purposes.
