NCN 55 & Bridgewater canal

I attended the Salford City council cycle forum last night and amongst the items under discussion was a length of former railway line which is to be signed by the city council as part of the National Cycle Network route 55.

So today I met up with another Sustrans Ranger who lived close to the trail and rode along the proposed route to check out access points and positions for signage.  Geoff also took me along a section of the Bridgewater canal which is to be opened up to cyclists (legally) after the towpath has been upgraded in the next couple of years.   Photos posted.
