Maria & Alex were invited to Claudia’s 4th Birthday party yesterday and both enjoyed a fabulous time, Maria in particular. Uncle Chris, a local children’s entertainer, provided the entertainment and we were keen to meet him as one of his ex-employees is now cared for by my Dad.
Dad has always kept rabbits, the first one at Wavell Drive being ‘Woffles’ (named after a Magic Faraway Tree character) but even after my sister and I had left home there was always at least one in residence and strays had also been taken in too. The current resident is ‘Magic’ who according to Uncle Chris is a white ‘dwalf’ rabbit who had out grown his black top hat. My Dad has kept dwalfs before and Magic certainly isn’t one. Although he doesn’t mind being handled he growls at people and I suspect there was an ‘incident’ which curtailed his professional career.
Uncle Chris, ably assisted by his daughter, who was constantly feeding him props and puppets, was a ball of energy for 60 minutes. He held the attention of all the kids and although some of his puppets looked like they had done quite a few years work there was Bob the Builder, Shrek and even the Crazy Frog bringing him right up to date. His magic tricks were really good and the rabbit he dutifully produced from a box was the definately the highlight and no I couldn’t work out how he did it either.
He finished off the afternoon with a dancing competition which he ajudged Maria to have won and she seemed very pleased with her colouring book and felt tips. Meanwhile Alex mostly slept so we enjoyed a relaxing afternoon too.
