According to 5 Live this evening 1/3 of all New Years resolutions don’t last a week. As usual I have a long list (which I wouldn’t bore you with) but top of the list is breakfast. Most imprtant meal of the day – so your Mum always told you.
I like breakfast but often don’t leave enough time to sit down and find I need to be awake 20 minutes before developing an appetite for it. I’ve found I can down a smoothie on the go quite easily and since I can grab a couple of the 5 portions of fruit and veg at the same time this seems to be the way forward for me. Current recipe is banana, frozen summer fruits (when I can find them in Tesco) and milk. I’ll need to find some alternative receipes before I bore of it.
2nd part of this resolution is something substantial to tide me through to lunchtime to help me avoid the lure of the chocolate and crisp machine. I’ve got 3 malt loafs (or loaves?) for this week, I might alternate with plain flapjack in future. I won’t address the deficiencies in my lunchtime (mostly) noodle based diet, I might try to tackle that next month instead. One day at a time….
