Alex’s progress

The lad’s doin’ just fine

Alex is due another weigh in tomorrow and at the last one he’d gained 5 ozs in just 6 days.  I think he must now have passed his birth weight as he feels more solid round his trunk although his legs are still quite spindly and Catriona’s certainly been busy feeding him over the last few days.  His eyes are open for a lot longer and thankfully he’s just happy taking in the sights rather than crying for attention.  He’s probably keeping an eye out for his sister as she’s progressed from just pointing out his body parts and his buttons to moving his arms about.

The dirty nappy worry has passed; after a pause of 6 days he saved up a real good present for us to unwrap on Christmas day at Hornby.  I must admit we were quite happy to see it and helped us relax for the rest of the day.

Alex does a few impressions already.  The first one is Mini Me or some sort of tiny Bond villan; usually performed with his eyes closed he strokes his long fingers plotting world domination.  His second impression is Kenneth Williams with pursed and pointed lips (though the manual suggests this is a typical facial expression when producing a wet nappy).  His final and most convincing impression is Steven Gerrard, it usually occurs when he’s about to cry and his brow becomes all furrowed.  This together with the shape of his head and his hairline makes it quite convincing.  I’ll try to take some pictures as evidence.
