TV, Letters and numbers

Maria is becoming better at amusing herself although it only seems to be for periods of 10 minutes at a time.  Even the television loses its appeal after 20 minutes which I suppose is a good thing.  Balamory is still top of her viewing list and she either asks for it specifically as "Bacabac" or asks for CBeebies.
After being without a TV for over 3 years we couldn’t live without it now and since we have a digi-box to give us access to all the free digital channels I can say that the total BBC offering is now certainly worth the license fee.  I’m trying to mix up her viewing a bit and I’m particularly impressed with Something Special which introduces signing along side the basic vocab which Maria is currently picking up and Boogie Beebies which she just watches rather than dances to at the moment.
Another source of entertainment has been her Red VTech bus.  It prompts her to pick out numbers letter and shapes and congratulates her when she answers correctly.  She’s had the shapes and numbers sorted out for a while but over the last week has tought herself to pick out all the letters (with the exception of v, n and d).  We bought the bus from an NCT nearly new sale and I reckon it’s the best toy purchase we’ve made so far.
