Aggis has already been out a couple of times as it has been unbelieveably mild over the last few days. His first trip out in the pram was into Prestwich Village, which makes a good 15 minute walk for Maria. A brass ensemble from Prestwich Churches together were playing in the precinct and we met Murial who runs the Monday toddler group at the Heaton Park Methodist church hall. We carried on to the bike shop before turning back and heading home, it was Catriona’s first exercise since the birth and 40 minutes gentle strolling was enough for now.
Yesterday I took Maria to church and Catriona brought Alex along for the after service tea and biscuits. It amazed a few people as they had seen Catriona just a week earlier with bump and it made me realise how many amazing things have happened in the last 7 days.
This is my first early morning blog, which is a good sign actually. My plan is to go to bed as soon as possible after 9 and by the time Maria wakes we should have had 6 hours sleep even if it is broken into small chunks. Last night and the previous night Alex had 2 good feeds during the night and slept well between them. I slept through the 2:30 feed which is why I feel so good now. The first 3 nights were not so straight forward but we’ve learnt that Alex likes 20-30 minutes feed with an extra 10 minutes after he has had time to let the first bit settle. Although he likes white noise best, Classic FM makes good background music so we’ve had the radio on all night, it’s soothing for Catriona too.
Today we have an appointment to register the birth and all 4 of us are going into Manchester together, I might finish the Christmas shopping too!
