Loft conversion finished!

Dean hung the last door and re-fitted all the fire door closing mechanisms which we had removed a couple of months ago.  They’re a real menace as they trap Maria in rooms.  They’ll be removed or at least loosened after the council inspectors have checked and signed off the work.  There’s also the small matter of an electrical certificate after the new wiring has been inspected.
We have an electrician due tomorrow to fit a couple of more sockets downstairs and he’s questioned the fact that there is no bonding (earthing?).  Dean’s Brother who wired the loft claims that work didn’t require him to put the bonding in but we’ve queried it with Dean.  My Dad is replacing some floorboards for us and hopefully will be finished by the weekend and maybe the carpet and laminate flooring can be fitted next week.
We finished wall-papering the hall this evening and Alan will pop round on Monday to gloss the final door and do some minor touching up, he’s one workman we can actually rely on.  Photos will be posted after the weekend.
